THE ROTTEN APPLE: Perhaps no picture best describes the concept of white supremacist disease than that of the white cop murdering George Floyd in broad daylight on the street of the “United States of America”. That is a million dollar picture capturing the very essence of white supremacy which is all about destroying something beautiful to feel important. It is a bully mentality that flourished the slave trade, in which a “white” human will justify dehumanizing another of a more beautiful skin, physical strength and emotional wellbeing. But as always, at the core of every bully is the fear of their weakness being exposed in the light of an obviously better or preferred attributes. Every bully bullies those that have what they crave but don’t have. It is a sick mindset handed down from generation to generation, this is why you will see a full grown man relishing in his opportunity to kneel on another human’s neck and snuff out life from him because of his skin color; you hear of police officers resigning from their positions because they can’t just maltreat or shoot a black skin human, some of these officers are even heard saying they had joined the force with the prospect of being able to shoot black skin humans; you see white youths in school desperately trying to subject a black colleague to kissing their shoes for their ego thrill, this is common in cases of black kids getting into ivy-league schools on merit while these white supremacist kids get into such schools on white privileges. The black kid is a constant reminder of their incompetence but rather than get closer to learn from him to improve their own value, the white supremacist orientation is to destroy, demean, and devalue the supposed opposition. Sadly, they temporarily feel good on the notorious achievement but this does not improve their worth in any real sense.
The only thing the white supremacist has going for them is the white privileges they enjoy without which they aren’t worth much. This is a serious psychological illness of white supremacists, how else can one justify the hatred rather than gratitude towards a race that built the country you are so proud of for 400years while you can’t boast of any positive contributions of your ancestors in history. You hear phrases like “go back to your country, where your ancestors came from.” Have you looked at yourselves in a mirror? You are not a Native American, your ancestors came from somewhere too and stole lands and souls of people. If anybody has to leave it has to be you, descendants of freeloaders who caused nothing but pain on humanity.
Ignorance is truly a disease. An even sadder breed is the white supremacists that call themselves Christians; They can’t find anywhere in the bible that attests to a special place in heaven after death; a different judgement day in acknowledgement of their supremacy nor a privileged rapture plan which all points to the fact that skin color is insignificant in heaven. This makes it obvious that your skin color ends with your last breath on earth. Just as the earth was created with different soils that are all still classified as soil; varied species of same kind of animals, birds etc. so is the human race created with varies skin colors for beauty and splendor of the creator. It’s so sad that Animals recognize other species of the same breed as family and even these white supremacists recognize diverse animal’s species as the animal’s family but cannot recognize another human that breathes and lives like themselves as humans. At this point, the only logical conclusion is that animals have a higher intellectual prowess than the white supremacists.
White supremacy is a disease born out of fear and inferiority complete and it should be treated as such. Unfortunately for America, for centuries, the country had allowed this disease to proliferate among its white population unchecked, this is because white supremacists had grown through the rank and file of the country’s governance to date. Now, this problem has brought the country to the present point of revolt and the country is at a crossroad of destiny, a history defining moment… to make or break.
POINT OF NO RETURN: There is no going back 400 years to repair the past but to go forward, America must first make a detour either right or left.
On the right is the path of sending in the military to subdue your emotionally harassed citizens by the civil wing of the law enforcement agency. The only possible outcome being more killings, racial cleansing, and genocide e.t.c. these are unforgiveable by the international community and will only justify the international community’s only possible action of invading America in pretense of fighting the injustice to the black community (this is not to say other countries are not guilty of same crime against humanity, but America is the scapegoat right now). Talk about karma, this is what America has spent the greater part of this century doing to other nations (international bullying, calling a dog a bad name just so you can hang it). Can anyone imagine a country that would miss out on the opportunity of having a go at America right now? Certainly not China, Russia nor the Middle East; I can easily picture the solar, nuclear and biological weapons aiming the USA right now. With all its military might and boastful stance (living in past glory), the odds are not looking very good for America on this path but pride may be the deciding factor…. “Pride they say goes before a fall.” Talking about “the way that seems right to a man, at the end of which is …..Destruction!
The left path is indeed easier, humane and less expensive with zero casualty and America gets to save itself and save face internationally or better still, arise from its downward spiral on the global ladder of honor. But it is a path on which the country can only step onto if it’s ready to address the issues of white supremacy, white privileges and give every American a level playing field. Then only can America be called free.
UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL: Some white Americans have woken up to this reality and are indeed standing with their black brothers and sisters on this path. Obviously, the whites and other races standing with the blacks in the current protest have had the privilege of knowing a black skin human and have come to appreciate God’s masterpiece in their creation. I can well understand your speaking up and heading out daily to stand for what is right and stand for humanity and God bless you all and your descendants forever.
There is really no nation especially of people of multiple tribes/ races without its own peculiar challenges, it’s just that some nations hide their weaknesses better that others. Your elections are around the corner; you can do so much by reading up on candidate’s emotional and physiological wellbeing before you vote. You can’t continually vote in sick people and expect better of them. Perhaps, next elections, you should be avoiding slogans like MAGA (supposedly, make America great again! Do you seriously need to tear down a nation built from centuries so just you can claim to….make it great again? Well, if you study the origin of the word “MAGA” it does originate from Nigerian and it means FOOL). Rather, you should be leaning towards a slogan that’s synonymous with the word ARA (America Rise Again), ARA is another Nigerian word meaning wonder, believe it right now, raising from the current status quo will indeed be the eighth wonder of the world.
But right now, with so much less energy the sane “whites” can do so much more by addressing the psychological illness of their “white” brothers and sisters. Apart from white low self-esteem, it is obvious that white supremacy springs from ignorance and fear of the potentials of the black skin human. Today, make it a point to share your experience of a black skin American with your “white” brothers and sisters’ currently not standing with you in these protests and then introduce them to your black skin brothers and sisters. You’ll be surprised how fast and how far this little gesture will go in exterminating racism in America and the world.
To “whites” everywhere, be bold, take up the challenge today and share your story #theblackinmywhitelife.
My people have a proverb “when an issue defies heavenly and earthly solution, there is a realm we lean on.” This reserved alternative is also bloodless, costless and won’t be seen coming. Only the blacks will benefit and anyone who is bold enough to adapt the ideology. It will reset the world economically, but America will be the biggest looser. When this wave is discovered, any attempt to stop it will be tantamount to infringement on human rights and will trigger the consequences of the “right” path above. There are nations that would love to see America fall and won’t mind sponsoring this wave. This alternative is a multiple tsunami coming and America will not survive the blow.
“A word is enough for the wise.” …no one gets to decide which nation is wise or not but America’s choice at this time will show where the country stands on the international scale of wisdom. The world is watching and right now, even the name United States of America seems to be an irony.
Fellow Africans, perhaps, the best time to be alive is now; though the Covid-19 pandemic has forcefully unveiled how sick our world has become. It has revealed the cracks in the tall walls of Jericho of the “developed countries” it has revealed one of the many innate strengths of Africa that has been consciously and systematically downplayed for centuries. This scenario reminds me of a Yoruba proverb, meaning “one who has never experienced battle but is quick to label himself a warrior”. In the face of this common adversity, we have seen Africa, calm, courageously strategic in managing the pandemic with what we have while the “mighty” and their vast intelligence are scampering from pillar to post. The bible interpretes this in proverbs as “he who is weak in the day of adversity, was never strong to begin with.” THE SECRET IS OURS TO KEEP
“Knowledge is power” We agree and take time to learn about other continents and countries of the world while majority of the “developed countries” populations imagines that Africa is a state, that we live in trees and are animals yet we are called inept. Our lands provide the brains, food, mineral resources, herbs and roots, hospitality and warmth that has sustained humanity for centuries; despite the outright raping of Africa for centuries(still ongoing) we are still standing strong, beautiful and spirited… I guess the secrets of Africa is truly ours to keep. It’s like lurking around the goose that lays the golden eggs only to steal the eggs while pretending to help the goose, you know you can’t kill the goose because that means no golden eggs (not for want of trying) but you can’t comprehend that it’s only a matter of time before the goose becomes aware of the thief’s strategies and smartens up (an age old survival strategy)….while the status quo still seems the same.
THE CHANGE WE SEEK But in all these, we have ourselves to blame; we were too trusting of Greek gifts, cocooned in our utopia hence, ignorant of international political tyranny and exploitative strategies. Our dear friend, Covid-19 has exposed the fallibility of the supposed perfect structures of the “developed countries”. It’s now obvious that politicians are majorly same everywhere- it’s just how perfect they’ve mastered the art of diplomatically communicating their intelligence or the lack thereof. A classic biblical case of the counsel of Ahithophel becoming foolishness which in itself is a sign that the path has been spiritually cleared for David’s return to the throne. However, our successful return does require our heads facing the direction of the palace while we reminiscence on how we fell; recognizing that we can’t go the foreign route we fell from. We have tried this route, severally and it hasn’t worked for us because it’s just not us. Funnily enough, it’s not working for the “mighty” right now; I mean, even the United Nations doesn’t seem to be coming up with a united strategy to address the current pandemic; the WHO that should be at the forefront of this situation is scavenging for accurate information to work with from nations and the mighty nations are being conspicuously evasive and inconsistent so WHO is exactly who right now? We must stop being ignorant of the fact that slavery and colonization were about the extracting the multifaceted value of Africa; slavery was about the labor value of the people, colonization about domination of the resources since the land cannot be shipped abroad. Now it’s understood that the best of Africa is in a combination of the ones in whose blood Africa flows; in whose hands Africa recognizes prosperity and in whose feet Africa has assigned space to reign. It’s time we looked inwards, speak to our land and listen for those cultural values that raised our ancestors as honorable and powerful kings and queens of our land in their time enough to attract a globally conspired invasion. These cultural values we can only polish with our newfound knowledge not replace like we have been taught. As simple as it sounds, perhaps the most misunderstood word of this decade is “change”. We have tried the big things, the “approved” economic, political policies and structures now it’s time to try the very small things. A home is the smallest unit of a nation and Charity they say “begins at home” hence, we must reconnect to those cultural values that bequeaths honorable family structures built by spouses with integrity, raising responsible children being their brother’s keeper; loving their neighbor as themselves’;

We must recognize that each and every one of us is Africa, united we stand and divided we fall and whether we know it or not, there are non-Africans impatiently waiting to benefit from that fall. Nigeria may have been between the devil and the deep blue sea but the eyes of the game changers are fixed on our true position on the global stage. Slowly but surely, we are coming to the understanding that the only way for us is up; make no mistake about it, post covid-19, we are the underdogs of the era and we’ve been on the runway for a long time but when this is over, be rest assured that we will do what we know how to do best… arise and stand but this time we soar… proudly Nigeria, Proudly Africa.
I AM NIGERIA, I am a land of luscious, exotic beauty and wildlife with inexhaustible natural resources but of all my wealth, my most precious possession are my over 200million children. By my strength they were conceived; by my blood, greatness runs in their veins; by my winds, their minds move at the speed of light for they are wired to conquer challenges of the world.
Closest to my heart of these, are a special breed; they are the ones who understand their unstoppable potentials; maximize their inherent inheritance and honor my name as they breathe. On their shoulders, the responsibility lies to steer their generation and determine their collective destiny; in their hearts lie the strategies to evolve in crisis; in their voice lies the strength to move mountains; in their hands lies the power to turn dust to gold and in their feet lies the speed to touch the skies.
These are the ones who will make something admirable out my situation rather than their lamentations; not the wailers who sit back, pointing accusing fingers as they analyze my challenges and castigate people that are actually making the effort to make me stand.
These are the ones who understand my people to be my coat of many colors; not the ones who foster division of my people with their tribal and religious sentiments.
These are the ones who understand true wealth to be how many lives they have enriched not destroyed; not the ones who depend on corruption to prosper… it is far below their integrity and dignity of my breed.
These are the ones who understand that that self-discipline is true leadership, in their family, career and social lives; not the ones who focus on the benefits of their position and not the responsibilities thereof.
Just as only one sperm make it to fertilization, there are just a handful of them of the per million; these are the ones who own their identity; they are the ones who put me above themselves and whose hearts beat for me because they understand that my dignity and success define their true global value;
These are the ones who understand my language, these are my compatriots and it is to them that I speak when I say:
Arise, O compatriots
Nigeria’s call obey
to serve our fatherland
with love and strength and faith.
The labor of our heroes past
shall never be in vain,
to serve with heart and might
one nation bound in freedom
Peace and unity.
UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. From time immemorial, nations have risen and nations have fallen. Yet through the ages, some nations grow stronger, this because they understand the basic, fundamental principle “united we stand, divided we fall!” this they propagate by cultivating the concept of national patriotism above individual, family, friend or foe from childhood- catching them young, so to speak. It gives credence to the saying “train up a child in the way he should go, when he grows, he will not depart from it.”
Globally, your recognition is based on your country’s reputation. Hence, if you dishonor your country, you devalue yourself and no other country will respect you!
Every country has her own National Pledge, the citizens who unitedly uphold their pledge build their country and the citizens who dishonor their pledge destroy their country.
According to the Nigerian National Pledge every citizen say;
I pledge to Nigeria my Country,
(This means you are focused on what you must do for your country NOT what your country should do for you.)
To be faithful, loyal and honest,
(Charity does begin at home, are you faithful to your family, career, community;
Are you loyal to obey rules and regulations of the country or you imagine you’re above the law? Remember, the law you break today will break your future – what goes around comes around;
Can you honestly say you’re a good citizen? Is your word trustworthy, are you responsible with what belongs to others?)
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
(Your voice is your strength, what are you speaking into Nigeria, positive or negative?
Are the activities and actions you engage in serving Nigeria or killing Nigeria with all your strength? Remember, you will reap what you sow 😉
To defend her unity
Every successful revolutionist in history stood for the unity of their people and are remembered as heroes of their country with global acknowledgement- their revolution was peaceful and it built their country-
Those who sponsored divisive revolutions are remembered as villains of humanity because their revolutions were violent and it destroyed their country for decades- even after death, their descendants will not be associated with their family name.
And uphold her honor and glory
(When you think about Nigeria, What good things do you know about Nigeria? what good things do you celebrate about Nigeria? what do you admire about Nigeria? At can make you proud of Nigeria.)
So help me God.
(one who sits on the fence waiting for another to come extinguish the fire in his house will soon become homeless When you unite with others to help your country, then you see God’s help.)
It is hope for the reformation of our nation through our individual reflection and collective effort to honor our national pledge and rebuild our nation. This is a call to arise o compatriots.
